Tynemount Office, Ormiston
Completed in 2014

This project is a new home office building in the grounds of a former farmhouse in East Lothian. The building has a simple linear form and is built against an existing stone garden wall. The main entrance, a small kitchen and wc are contained at one end near the front driveway, with the office space (for up to 4 people) occupying the other end towards the main house. The desks are arranged along windows to the south and east providing attractive views of the surrounding gardens, whilst storage / filing cupboards run the full length of the garden wall to the north. The circulation space between desks and storage is brightly illuminated with 2 large skylights. The building incorporates underfloor heating, triple-glazed windows and doors, and is clad in larch to contrast sympathetically with the stone of the house.
