Greenhill Terrace
Completed in 2011

This project involved the reconfiguration of the rear ground floor areas of a listed Victorian terraced house to create a new kitchen and family living space, with utility room in the outshoot beyond. A key part of the project was the installation of a wine cellar below the floor, the glazed door of which allows its spiralling form and contents to become an exciting feature of the kitchen. A large opening was created between the kitchen & living areas and fitted with glazed sliding pocket doors to provide flexibility. New glazed doors were formed in the rear facade to enable the space to engage with the garden and new terrace and deck areas, and external lighting incorporated to maintain this connection at night. The doors have also been fitted with shutters to allow the spaces to be "closed up" in winter. The kitchen fitments include a mix of Corian and timber worksurfaces and a brightly coloured glass splashback. Other features include limestone flooring with underfloor heating throughout and a purpose-made bookcase and television unit in the living area.
