Nile Grove II
Completed in 2008

This project is the second phase of works to a terraced house previously refurbished by the practice. The project involved substantial alterations to the existing kitchen to the rear of the building including the removal of an existing extension, the creation of a new larger extension, and the conversion of the remaining accommodation. The new extension is a stone-built linear form with a glazed roof designed to dramatically increase the amount of daylight into this part of the house. The new kitchen fitments and island unit are arranged directly below the glazing and were constructed from a combination of solid European oak and painted tulip wood with stone worksurfaces. The new floor is also finished in oak and incorporates underfloor heating. New fully glazed sliding/ folding doors to the rear wall of the building open onto a new stone-paved terrace and enable the new kitchen space to fully engage with the garden beyond.
